Alternatives to Freshdesk
Freshdesk alternatives: the plan you need is one tier up.
Teams search for Freshdesk alternatives when the features they bought it for turn out to be on a higher tier. Round-robin and multiple SLA policies sit on Pro. The audit log and skills routing sit on Enterprise. Copilot is per agent on top. Spodus is a smaller help desk with nothing gated and four other products around it.

What actually pushes people off Freshdesk.
Three mechanics, all read from their own pricing page.
The features are a ladder
Freshdesk sells three tiers per agent, billed monthly or yearly. Round-robin assignment, custom dashboards and multiple SLA policies arrive on Pro. Skills-based routing, the sandbox and the audit log arrive on Enterprise. A team of eight needs round-robin to share tickets fairly, so a team of eight ends up on Pro.
AI is sold on top of the seat
Freddy AI Copilot is a per-agent add-on, on top of the plan. The Freddy AI Agent comes with an allowance of sessions, and sessions beyond it are bought in blocks. So a busy month with the bot answering more questions is also a larger bill, and the agent seat you compared is not the number you pay.
Every agent is a seat, and the rest of the business is elsewhere
Every person who answers a ticket is a paid agent, and day passes exist for the ones who only help sometimes. The customer's deals, invoices and balance live in other systems. Search for Freshdesk CRM and you land on Freshsales, a separate product with its own per-user plans and its own bill.
What a Spodus seat is instead.
A help desk with nothing on a higher tier, next to the CRM and the invoice.
Routing and SLAs on every plan
Ticket queues with owners and statuses, SLAs with timers, a knowledge base, public forms and a customer portal are in every plan. Automations route tickets by rule. There is no tier where the help desk becomes complete, because it is complete on the first one.
Nothing sold on top of the seat
There is no Copilot seat to buy and no session allowance to run out, because nothing in Spodus is sold as an add-on. Tickets are not counted. A month with twice the tickets costs what a quiet month costs, because the only thing counted is people who sign in.
The agent can see the account
The customer on the ticket is the same record that carries the deal, the invoices and whether they are paid. An agent answers the billing question without asking finance. Customers who open a ticket through the portal never hold an account, so they never cost a seat.
What you would be giving up.
Freshdesk is a deeper help desk than Spodus, and the gap is widest on channels. Freshdesk Omni adds chat, WhatsApp, messaging and phone in one queue, and the Freddy bots answer customers before an agent sees the ticket. Spodus has email-to-ticket, a portal and public forms, and nothing else: no chat widget, no messaging channels, no telephony and no bots. Freshdesk also has collision detection, a large app marketplace and CSAT surveys, none of which exist here. If your support runs across channels, or a bot handles half your volume, stay on Freshdesk. Spodus fits the team of two to fifteen that answers email and portal tickets and wants the CRM and the invoices in the same seat.

Freshdesk's pricing structure above was read from their own pricing page on 11 September 2026; check it for current rates, which we deliberately do not quote here. Spodus is priced per seat on both Growth and Business, with no seat minimum. Customers in the support portal are free.
Contacts come across. Tickets start clean.
Freshdesk exports contacts and companies to CSV, and Spodus imports them with a column mapping step and duplicate detection. There is no Freshdesk preset, so you point each column at a field yourself, which takes minutes rather than hours. Open tickets do not import: the queue starts clean, and the tickets still open in Freshdesk stay there until they close. Knowledge base articles import by CSV. Automations and SLA policies are rebuilt, and the honest advice is to rebuild only the rules you can name.
