Spodus vs Airtable

Airtable gives you tables. Spodus gives you the products.

In Airtable you design the schema, wire the automations, and own the result when it breaks. In Spodus the CRM, the ledger, the help desk and the HR are already built, already connected, and already somebody else's job to maintain.

Airtable is a database. Spodus is what you would build with it.

Every hour spent designing tables, linking records and rebuilding a pipeline is an hour not spent using one. These five products already exist, already connected.

Airtable

The database you build on

  • $20 per seat a month on Team, $45 on Business, both billed annually.
  • You build the CRM, and you maintain it every time the process changes.
  • Automation runs are capped by the usage limit on your plan.
  • Tables and interfaces, not invoices with balances or tickets with SLA timers.
Spodus

Spodus

The whole suite, one seat

  • From $29 a month flat, for up to 10 people, not per seat.
  • Built, not assembled. A real pipeline, ledger, queue and org chart on the first day.
  • One customer record shared by all five products, with nothing to link by hand.
  • Board, table and calendar views over records that already know what they are.

Why teams switch.

Nobody has to be the maintainer

An Airtable base is somebody's second job: the person who designed it owns every change, and the team stalls when they leave. Five finished products have no such person.

Real invoices, not a table called invoices

A balance that updates when a payment is recorded, a status that reopens on a credit note, an SLA timer that actually counts. Those are behaviours, not columns.

Flat, not per seat

Ten people on Airtable Team is $200 a month, or $450 on Business. Ten people on Spodus is $29.

The build is the hidden cost.

Airtable Team is $20 per seat a month, so ten people is $200, or $450 on Business. On top of the licence sits the work: designing the base, linking the tables, wiring the automations and maintaining all of it. Spodus is $29 a month flat for up to ten people, built.

Being fair about it.

Where Airtable fits better: it will model something that does not exist yet, and Spodus will not. If your process is genuinely unusual, or you need a bespoke internal tool with its own schema and interfaces, Airtable is the right instrument and this is not a fair fight. Spodus is for the ordinary business functions everybody has, built once so nobody has to build them again.

Questions, answered.

Can Spodus be customised like Airtable?
Partly. You get custom fields, custom stages, custom views and automations on records that already exist. What you do not get is a blank schema: you are shaping a CRM rather than designing one. That is the trade, and it is the whole point.
We already built a CRM in Airtable. Why move?
Usually because of who maintains it. A base is only as durable as the person who designed it, and every process change is a build task. If yours works and somebody owns it happily, keep it.
Can we import our bases?
Yes. Export to CSV and import contacts, companies, deals and invoices onto the matching Spodus records, with your fields mapped across.
