Export and delete your data
Download a full copy of your workspace in one file, or permanently delete the workspace and everything in it from Settings > Data & privacy.
Settings > Data & privacy lets you take a full copy of your workspace, or delete it for good.
Before you start
- Owners and admins can export the workspace. Only the owner can delete it. An owner can make someone else owner in Settings > Members.
- To export one board as a spreadsheet instead, see Export to CSV.
Export your workspace
- Go to Settings > Data & privacy.
- Under Export workspace, click Download export.
The file downloads in your browser.
What the export holds
- What it includes: every record on every board, docs, goals, comments, views, dashboards, forms and workflows. Also members, roles and invitations, your plan, the audit log and details of every file.
- What it leaves out: the files themselves (each has a download link instead), synced mail and calendar, and passwords and other secrets.
- Format: NDJSON, one JSON object per line. The first line lists what the file holds.
You can export twice an hour. Each export is recorded in the audit log.
Delete your workspace
Deleting cannot be undone. There is no trash and no grace period, and Spodus cannot restore it.
- If you're on a paid plan, cancel it first in Settings > Billing. See Plans and billing.
- Export the workspace if you want to keep a copy.
- Go to Settings > Data & privacy.
- Under Danger zone, click Delete workspace.
- Read what is destroyed and what is kept.
- Type the workspace name to confirm.
- Click Delete workspace permanently.
You are signed out and taken to the sign-in page.
What deleting removes
- Every record on every board, including custom boards, and every file attached to one.
- Docs, goals, folders, comments, checklists, saved views, dashboards, forms and workflows.
- The audit log, every membership and every pending invitation.
- Connected mailboxes and calendars, their stored credentials, and everything synced from them.
Your invoices and payment records with Stripe are kept, because they are tax records. Other members are signed out of the workspace. Their own accounts are not affected.
