Quick capture & notepad
Keep a private notepad, turn a line into a task, set yourself a reminder, and capture a note on any record with Command Shift K.
Ideas and to-dos come up in the middle of other work. Three quick tools catch them without leaving the page: the notepad, Remind me, and quick capture.
Things to know
- Notepad and Remind me are at the right end of the page bar, on every page. They're hidden when the window is narrow.
- The notepad is private. Only you can see it, in every workspace you belong to.
Use the notepad
- Click Notepad in the page bar.
- Type a line. Press Enter to start the next one.
- Tick a line when it's done.
- Click Clear ticked to remove the lines you've finished.
The notepad saves as you type.
Turn a line into a task
- Hover over a line in the notepad.
- Click Make a task.
The task is created and assigned to you, and the line is ticked. Click Open in the message that appears to add a due date.
Set a reminder
- Click Remind me in the page bar.
- Type what to remind you about.
- Pick In 1 hour, Tomorrow, Next Monday or Custom. Tomorrow and Next Monday are at 9 AM. For Custom, pick a Day and Time.
- Click Set reminder.
The reminder rings in your notifications. Coming up lists your next reminders. Click See all to see them on your calendar.
Capture a note with ⌘⇧K
- Press ⌘⇧K (Ctrl+Shift+K on Windows) from any page.
- Type your note. The first line becomes its title.
- Press Esc when you're done.
The note saves as you type, and the dialog's title says where it goes:
- With a record open, the note goes on that record, at the top of its notes.
- With no record open, it's saved to your docs.
