Track time
Log your hours with the timer in the page bar, a timer on a task or ticket, or by adding time by hand, and mark each entry billable or not.
Time in Spodus is logged against a task, a ticket or a project. You can run a timer while you work, or add the time afterwards.
Before you start
- Time tracking must be turned on for your workspace. See Turn modules on and off.
- You need something to log time against: a task, or a ticket or project if your workspace has them.
Things to know
- One timer runs at a time.
- A new entry takes its task's Billable setting, and you can change it. Billable time that isn't on an invoice yet is ready to bill. See Bill unbilled work.
- A timer left running for more than 12 hours shows as left running. You set when you stopped, then log it.
Start a timer from the page bar
- Click Start timer (the play button) in the page bar.
- Pick the task you're working on. Tasks assigned to you are listed first.
The timer shows in the page bar while it runs. Click it to add a note, change Started at, or turn Billable on or off. Click Stop · log to log the time, or Discard to throw it away.
Start a timer on a task or ticket
- On a task, open it and use the Time section. Click Log time, then Start timer instead.
- On a ticket in the support inbox, the Time row has a play button. Click it to start, and the stop button to stop and log.
Add time by hand
- Go to More > Time tracking.
- Click Add time.
- Type the duration, such as
3h 20m,1:30or1.5. Or fill in Start and End instead. - Pick what you worked on: a task, ticket or project.

- Check Billable, then click Save.
You can also click Log time on a task or ticket to add time to it directly.
