SequencesUpdated
Unsubscribes
How the unsubscribe link in every sequence email works, what the person sees, and how to view, add or remove addresses on your unsubscribe list.
Every sequence email ends with an unsubscribe link. People who use it go on your workspace's unsubscribe list, and no sequence emails them again.
Things to know
- The link can't be turned off. You can change its words in Sending settings.
- Opening the link changes nothing. The person has to click Unsubscribe on the page. Mail apps that offer their own one-click unsubscribe work too.
- An unsubscribe applies to the whole workspace. The person leaves every sequence they are in, not just the one they unsubscribed from.
- A reply asking to stop counts as an unsubscribe too.
- An email that hard-bounces adds the address to the list on its own.
- Enrolling someone on the list skips them, with the reason On the unsubscribe list.
What the person sees
The page asks "Unsubscribe from emails sent by" your workspace's name, with an Unsubscribe button. After they click it, the page says You’re unsubscribed. The page never shows their email address.
See the unsubscribe list
- Open Settings from your account menu.
- Click Sequences under Modules.
The Unsubscribe list shows each Email, the Reason and the Date. The reason is Unsubscribed, Bounced, or the name of the admin who added it. Type in Search by email to find an address.
You can also open it from More > Sequences > Sequence settings > Do-not-email list > Open the list.
Add or remove an address
Only workspace admins can change the list.
- To add one, click Add email, type the address and click Add email.
- To remove one, click Remove on its row, then Remove. The address can then be enrolled and get sequence emails again.
