Notes and docsUpdated
Organize your docs
Keep docs tidy with folders, favorites and recent docs, filter the docs list, search and sort it, and archive docs you no longer need without deleting them.
The panel beside the rail lists your docs, and the Docs home shows them as a table you can filter, search and sort.
Things to know
- The panel has four views: All docs, Created by me, Shared with me and Private.
- Under the views, the panel shows Archived, your Favorites, your four most Recent docs and your Folders.
- Folders, favorites and archiving work on whole docs, not on pages inside a doc.
File docs in folders
- In the panel, click New folder, then type a name.
- Drag a doc onto the folder. Or open the doc, click Page options (the ⋯ at the top right), and pick the folder under Move to.
To take a doc out, pick Remove from folder in the same menu.
To rename or delete a folder, hover over it in the panel and open its menu. Deleting a folder doesn't delete its docs. They show under All docs.
Favorite a doc
Click the star at the top right of an open doc. It shows under Favorites in the panel. Click the star again to remove it.
From the docs table, open a doc's menu and click Add to favorites or Remove from favorites.
Archive a doc
Archive a doc you no longer need but want to keep. It leaves the panel and the docs table until you restore it.
- Open the doc.
- Click Page options, then Archive.
To bring it back, click Archived in the panel, open the doc, and click Restore.
Find a doc in the list
On the Docs home:
- Type in Search docs to search by title.
- Click Sort to order docs by Updated, newest first, Updated, oldest first or Viewed, most recent first. You can also click the Date updated or Date viewed column header.
- The Sharing column shows who each doc is shared with.
Delete a doc
Click Page options, then Delete. Deleting a page also deletes every page inside it, for everyone. You can restore them from Trash for 30 days.
