Goals and approvalsUpdated
Set a goal
Set a target with a start and due date, and let Spodus count progress from your records, or type the number in when it lives somewhere else.
A goal is a target your team works toward by a date, such as "20 new deals this quarter". It can count itself from your records, so nobody has to update it.
Things to know
- A goal can count from records, so it updates by itself, or you can type its number in.
- Measured as sets the kind of number: Number, Currency, Percentage or Yes / No.
- Use About on the goal to link it to a record, such as a deal or a project. The goal then shows on that record.
Create a goal
- Go to More > Goals.
- Click New goal.
- Name the Goal.
- Set the Owner, the Team if it is a team goal, and the Target.
- Set when it Starts and when it is Due.
- Click Create.
You can also click New goal on a team's page under Team > Teams, or in the Goals tab of a record.
Count progress from records
- Open the goal.
- Under Progress, next to Counts from, choose Records.
- Pick which Records to count, such as Deals.
- Under Count, choose How many, or a total of one of their number fields.
- Under Counted in the goal’s dates by, choose the date that puts a record inside the goal's dates.
- Under Only when, click Add a condition if you only want some records counted, such as deals in a won stage.
- Tick the box to count only the records the goal's owner is responsible for, if you want.
- Click Done.
The goal now updates by itself as those records change. To change what it counts, click Change.
Update progress by hand
If Counts from is set to Typed in, change Now on the goal whenever the number moves. Each change is kept as a check-in on the goal's chart.
