Automate from a view
Use Automate on a record list, such as Deals, to see what runs on those records, switch automations on or off, and start a new one for them.
Every record list, such as Deals or Contacts, has an Automate button. It shows the automations that run on that type of record, and starts a new one already pointed at it.
Things to know
- Automate sits at the right end of the row with the view tabs, beside Share. The number beside it is how many automations are switched on for that type of record.
- The button is hidden on small screens.
- Only admins see the switches and New automation. Members see which automations are on.
See what runs on a list
- Open a record list, such as CRM > Deals.
- Click Automate. A panel opens on the right.
- Under Running on deals, each automation shows its name, its trigger and its first step.
Click an automation to open it in the builder. To switch one on or off, use the switch beside it. If an automation can't be switched on yet, because it has no name or a blank is still empty, it opens in the builder so you can finish it.
Start a new automation from a list
- Click Automate on the list.
- Click New automation.
- The builder opens with a new automation that runs when a record of that type is created.
- Name it, change the trigger if you need to, and add steps. See Your first automation.
Click All automations at the foot of the panel to go to the full list.
