Calendar and timeline
Lay out records by date on a calendar or a timeline, drag them to new dates, and find the unscheduled records that still need dates.
The calendar and timeline layouts place records on dates. Use the calendar to see what falls on which day, and the timeline to see work stretched from start to finish.
Things to know
- Each board uses its own date. For example, deals use Close date, and tasks and projects use Due date. You can't pick a different date field for the layout.
- Calendar is offered on most boards, including Deals, Tasks, Projects, Contacts, Invoices and your own boards. Timeline is offered on Deals, Tasks, Milestones and Time off.
- A record with a start and an end date shows as a bar on the timeline. A record with one date shows as a single point.
- Changing a date here changes it on the record, for everyone.
See records on a calendar
- Open the list, for example CRM > Tasks.
- Click the calendar icon in the layout buttons on the right of the toolbar.
- Choose Day, Week or Month. Use the arrows or Today to move around.
To change a record's date, drag it to another day. Its time of day stays the same.

- Click the timeline icon in the layout buttons.

Schedule unscheduled records
Records with no dates collect in the Unscheduled group at the bottom of the timeline. The toolbar shows how many there are, such as 4 unscheduled.
- Hover over the record in the Unscheduled group and click Open record (the arrow).
- Set its dates, such as the start and due date.
The record moves out of Unscheduled and onto the timeline. You can't drag an unscheduled record onto the timeline.
