Board view
See records as cards in a column for each stage or status. Drag cards between columns, add cards, collapse columns and set WIP limits.
A board shows records as cards, with one column for each stage or status. Use it to see where work stands and move it on.
Things to know
- Deals are grouped by Stage. Tasks, projects, leads and contacts are grouped by Status. To group by another dropdown or tags field, click Display and change Group by.
- Records with no value sit in their own column, such as No stage.
- Each column shows how many cards it has. On boards with an amount, like Deals, it also shows the total.
- Moving a card needs permission to edit that board.
Open the board
- Open the list, for example CRM > Deals.
- Click the board icon in the layout buttons on the right of the toolbar.
Move a card
Drag the card to another column. Its stage or status changes to match. You can also drag cards up and down to reorder them.
Click a card to open the record.
Add a card
- Hover over a column header and click Add card (the +), or click the new button at the bottom of a column, such as New deal.
- Type a title and press Enter.
Change a column
Hover over the column header and click Group options (the ⋯). From there you can:
- Rename the column or change its Color.
- Collapse group to fold the column into a narrow strip. Click Expand group to open it again.
- Edit statuses… to add, rename, recolor and reorder all the columns at once. See Edit statuses.
- Delete group to remove the column. Records in it are left with an empty value.
To add a column, click Add status at the end of the board and type a Status name.
Set a WIP limit
A work-in-progress limit caps how many cards a column should hold.
- Click Group options on the column.
- Click Set WIP limit… and type a number.
The count changes to show cards against the limit, such as 6 / 5, and turns red when the column is over. To remove it, click Clear WIP limit.
WIP limits and collapsed columns last while you're on the page. They aren't saved with the view or shared with your team.
