Design and settings
Brand your form with a color, logo and background, choose what record each response creates, and pick who is told about new responses.
Each form has its own look and its own settings: what a response creates, what visitors see after they send it, when the form closes and who hears about new answers.
Style the form
- Open the form and click Design at the top. The form shows on the left, and changes apply as you make them.
- Set what you need:
- Show form title: show or hide the form's name above the questions.
- Accent color: pick a swatch or type a hex color. The submit button uses it. If the color is light, the button text turns dark so it stays readable.
- Logo URL: a link to your logo image. It shows above the form.
- Background: Default, White, Soft blue, Warm or Dark.
- Hide “Powered by Spodus”: removes the badge from the public form. This needs the Starter plan or higher.
Choose what a response creates
- On the Build tab, click an empty part of the form so no question is selected.
- In the panel on the right, click Form.
- Under Creates records in, pick Responses only (no record), or a record type: Contacts, Leads, Deals, Companies or Tasks. Only record types turned on in your workspace are listed.
Every response is kept either way. When you switch record type, questions that belong to the old record's fields may be removed. Spodus asks first, with Change. A form started from Lead capture always creates leads, so it has no picker.
On the same tab, set the Submit button label, the Success message visitors see after sending, and an optional Redirect URL to send them to another page instead.
Close the form and stop spam
Click Access in the same panel:
- Close on a date: stop taking responses after a Close date and Close time.
- Limit responses: stop after a number of responses.
- Message when closed: what visitors see once it closes. The default is "This form is no longer accepting responses."
- Spam honeypot: a hidden field that bots fill in. Answers with it filled in are dropped. It is on for new forms.
A live form that has closed shows Closed next to its name.
Get told about new responses
On the Access tab, under Notifications:
- Turn on Notify me of new responses. You get a notification in the bell, and by email unless you turn email off in your notification settings.
- Click Add a teammate to notify someone else too.
