Turn on the client portal
Switch on the client portal so your clients can sign in and see their invoices, quotes, contracts, projects and requests, and copy its address.
The client portal is a page where your clients sign in and see what you've shared with them. It starts switched off.
Before you start
- You must be a workspace owner or admin. The Client portal settings page is only shown to admins.
Turn the portal on
- Open Settings from your account menu.
- Click Client portal.
- Turn on the Client portal switch.
Off, the page says Off. Clients can't sign in. On, it says clients can sign in and see what you've shared with them.
Get the portal address
While the portal is on, the page shows the Portal address. Use the copy button beside it, and share the address with your clients.
Clients who open it see your workspace's name and a box to sign in.
What clients see
- What clients see: invoices and quotes you've sent them, their projects and milestones, and their support requests.
- What they never see: drafts, internal notes, tasks, costs and other clients.
Each client sees only their own company's records. See What your client sees.
How clients sign in
There are no passwords. You invite a client with Send portal link on their contact. They get a sign-in link by email that works once and lasts 3 days. After that, they can ask for a new link at the portal address. See Invite a client.
Turn the portal off
Turn off the Client portal switch. Clients can no longer sign in, and Send portal link, Ask client to approve and Send for signature stop showing in the app.
