Connect your calendar
Bring your Google or Outlook calendar into Spodus so its events show on your calendar, and choose how much of them your teammates can see.
Connect your Google or Microsoft account and your calendar's events show on your Spodus calendar, next to the events you make in Spodus.
Before you start
- Owners and admins can always connect accounts. Other members need a role with the Sync Account action. See Roles and permissions.
- For a calendar other than Google or Microsoft, have your CalDAV server details and password.
Things to know
- Your calendar is connected read-only. Spodus never changes it. Synced events can't be edited in Spodus.
- Google connects Gmail and Google Calendar with one sign-in. Microsoft connects Outlook mail and calendar with one sign-in.
- Your synced events show only on your own calendar, not on your teammates'.
- If no connect options show, the page says "Connecting email and calendar isn’t available in this workspace yet."
Connect Google or Outlook
- Go to Settings > Accounts. Or, on the calendar, click Connect in the line that says "Connect Google or Outlook to see your events here".
- If you already have an account connected, click Add account.
- Choose Google or Microsoft.
- Sign in and allow access. You come back to Spodus when it's done.
Under Connected accounts, the account shows Calendar once its calendar is connected. While it loads you may see Importing.
If you connected an account for mail only, click it and then click Add calendar.
Connect another calendar (CalDAV)
- Go to Settings > Accounts and click Add account.
- Choose Other email (IMAP).
- Fill in Name and Email address, then the CalDAV configuration section with your CalDAV server and sign-in details. You can leave the IMAP and SMTP sections blank if you only want the calendar.
- Click Save.
Choose what your team sees
- Go to Settings > Accounts and click the account.
- Under Calendar, in Visibility, choose:
- Everything: the whole event is shared with your team.
- Metadata: only the date and participants are shared.
See your synced events
On the calendar, synced events show as Synced calendar. Click Refresh synced calendars in the toolbar to fetch the latest. To hide them, click Calendar settings (the gear) and turn off Synced calendar.
Fix or remove a connection
- If the sign-in expires, click the account and then Reconnect.
- To remove it, click the account, then Remove account, and confirm. Its synced emails and events are deleted from Spodus. Your calendar isn't touched.
