Client statements
See what one client owes on their company page, with overdue money and aging, and print a statement of their charges, payments and credits.
Each client company has a billing summary: what they owe, how late it is, and a statement you can print or save as a PDF.
Before you start
- Revenue must be on. See Set up Revenue.
See what a client owes
- Open the company's page.
- Click the Invoices tab.
The Billing section at the top shows:
- Outstanding: money owed on sent invoices.
- Overdue: the part that is past due, when there is any.
- Credit available: open credit notes not yet applied.
- An aging strip: how much is Current, 1–30, 31–60 and 60+ days past due.
Below it are the client's payments and credit notes. The invoices are listed underneath.
To bill the client from here, click New invoice.
Print a statement
- In the Billing section, click Statement. It opens above the summary.
- Check it. It shows your company details and branding, the client's name, and the Opening balance and Closing balance.
- Click Print to print it or save it as a PDF.
The statement lists each invoice, payment and credit note with its Date, Type, Reference, Charges, Credits and running Balance. Under it, the Aging summary splits what is owed into Current, 1–30, 31–60, 61–90 and 90+ days.
Things to know
- Draft and void invoices are left out. A draft has not been sent, so it is not owed.
- Every figure is in your base currency. Each document is converted by its own rate.
- To send a statement to the client, save it as a PDF and attach it to an email.
