Share a doc
Choose who can open a doc: only you, named people with view or edit access, everyone who can read a board, or the whole workspace. Then add comments.
A new doc is private to you. Share it when it's ready, with the people who need it.
Things to know
- Only the person who created a doc can change who it's shared with. Everyone else sees the setting but can't change it.
- A page you add inside a doc starts with the same sharing as the page above it.
- Making a doc a template shares it with the whole workspace. See Doc templates and export.
Choose who can see a doc
- Open the doc.
- Click Share at the top right.
- Pick who can see it:
| Option | Who gets in |
|---|---|
| Private | Only you. |
| Named people | Only the people you name, each with Can view or Can edit. |
| A board | Everyone who can read the board you pick. A board never grants editing. |
| Whole workspace | Everyone in the workspace can find and open it. |
- For Named people, search for each person and click their name. Use the menu next to their name to switch between Can view and Can edit, or click the cross to remove them.
- For A board, search for the board and click it.
- Click Done.
Your change saves straight away.
Send someone the link
In the Share page dialog, click Copy link. The link opens the doc for anyone the doc is already shared with. It doesn't give anyone new access.
You can also click Copy link in the doc's Page options menu.
Comment on a doc
- Click the Comments button at the top right of the doc.
- Type your comment. Type
@to mention a teammate. - Click Comment, or press ⌘Enter (Ctrl+Enter on Windows).
Comments are open to people who can edit the doc. People who can only view it don't see the comments button.
