AutomationsUpdated
Canvas view
Switch an automation to Canvas to see it as a diagram of cards, add steps on any line, follow each route, and arrange the cards where you want them.
The Canvas view draws an automation as a diagram: the trigger at the top, then a card for each step, joined by lines. An If / otherwise step fans out into its routes, and the routes join again below. It is the same automation as the Build view, drawn another way, so a change in one shows in the other.
Open the canvas
- Go to More > Automations and open the automation.
- Click Canvas at the top.
While the app stays open, the next automation you open uses the view you last picked, Build or Canvas.
Move around
- Drag the background, or use the arrow keys, to move around.
- Use the controls in the corner to Zoom in, Zoom out, reset the zoom, or Fit to screen.
Add and edit steps
- Click the + on any line to insert a step there. A dashed card shows where it will go.
- Click the + at the bottom to add a step at the end.
- Click a card to open its settings on the right. Click the background to close them.
- Use a card's ⋯ menu to Duplicate, Move up, Move down or Delete it.
Arrange the cards
Drag a card anywhere on the canvas. It stays where you put it, and the lines follow it. Moving a card doesn't change the order the steps run in. Use Move up and Move down for that.
Moving cards doesn't create a new version of a live automation.
To put every card back in line, click the tidy-up button in the corner. It shows once you've moved a card. Spodus offers Undo right after.
Who can edit
Members can open the canvas to read an automation. Only admins can drag cards, add steps or use the card menus.
