Contacts and companies
Add the people and businesses you work with, link each contact to their company, and let Spodus fill in company logos and contact photos.
Contacts are the people you work with. Companies are the businesses they belong to. Link the two so a company's page shows its people, deals and work.
Things to know
- Name is the only required field on a new contact or company.
- A company's logo comes from its own website, found by its Domain. A contact's photo comes from Gravatar, found by their Email. Without one, Spodus shows initials.
- Spodus fetches logos and photos through its own server, so the sites they come from never see who is looking.
- Spodus doesn't warn you about duplicates when you add a record by hand. See Merge duplicates.
- To bring in many records at once, see Import a spreadsheet or Import from your email.
Add a company
- In the left rail, click CRM, then Companies.
- Click New company.
- Fill in Name, and any of Status, Domain, Industry, Size, Owner, Yearly value, Billing email, Location and Currency.
- Click Create.
Add the Domain, for example acme.com, and the company's logo shows up next to its name.
Add a contact
- Go to CRM > Contacts.
- Click New contact.
- Fill in Name, and any of Email, Phone, Company, Job title, Status and Owner.
- Click Create.
A contact's Status is one of Prospect, Qualified, Customer or Churned.
Link a contact to a company
- When you create the contact, pick the company in the Company field.
- On a company's full page, click Add contact. The new contact starts linked to that company.
- On a contact that already exists, click its Company field and pick the company.
The contact then shows under the company's Contacts tab, and the line under the contact's name reads their job title at that company.
