Merge duplicates
Combine two contacts or two companies that turn out to be the same, keeping one record and moving every linked deal, task and note across to it.
When the same person or company is in Spodus twice, merge the two. You pick the record to keep, and the other one folds into it.
Things to know
- You can merge contacts and companies.
- The record you keep keeps its name. Any of its fields that are empty take the value from the other record.
- Everything that pointed at the other record, like deals, tasks and notes, moves to the one you keep.
- The record you merged away is deleted and goes to Trash.
- Spodus doesn't warn you about duplicates when you add a record by hand. An import skips rows whose name already exists, unless you turn Skip duplicates off.
Merge two records
- Open the full page of the contact or company you want to merge away. Click its name in the list, then click Open full page (the diagonal arrows) at the top of the side panel.
- Click More (the ⋯ icon) at the top right, then Merge into….
- Search for the record you want to keep and click it. The window tells you what will move.
- Click Merge.
The record you kept opens, with everything from both.
