Send an email
Write an email to a contact from Spodus, with Cc and Bcc, sent from your own connected mailbox or from a shared mailbox your team answers together.
You can email a contact from their record, using your own mailbox. Or you can email from a shared mailbox, like hello@, in Messages.
Before you start
- To send from your own address, connect your mailbox first. See Connect your email.
- Sending needs the Send Email action. Owners and admins always have it.
Things to know
- Emails are text only. You can't add attachments yet.
- An email needs at least one To address, and a subject or a message.
- If you don't have a mailbox connected, the Email button offers Connect a mailbox, or Use this device to open your computer's mail app instead.
Email a contact
- Open the contact.
- Click Email (the envelope icon) in the record's header. Or open the Emails tab and click New email. The Emails tab is on contacts and companies.
- A new email window opens at the bottom right, with the record's address in To.
- Click Cc or Bcc to add more people. Start typing a name or address, and Spodus suggests contacts.
- Type a Subject and your message.
- Click Send, or press ⌘↵ (Ctrl+Enter on Windows).
Click Minimise to fold the window while you look at something else. Click Discard draft (the bin) to throw the email away.
Email from a shared mailbox
- In the left rail, click Messages.
- Open a mailbox under Mailbox in the sidebar.
- Click Compose (the pencil icon), or press C.
- If your team has more than one shared mailbox, pick one under From.
- Fill in To, any Cc or Bcc, the Subject and your message.
- Click Send.
The email starts a new conversation in the shared inbox, assigned to you. The client's reply lands in the same conversation. See Shared inbox.
