Doc templates and export
Start a doc from a template, turn one of your own docs into a template for the team, and export a page as a Markdown file or print it as a PDF.
Templates give a new doc a ready-made structure. Spodus comes with five, and you can turn any of your own docs into one. You can also take a page out of Spodus as a Markdown file or a PDF.
Things to know
- The built-in templates are Meeting notes, Proposal, Account plan, Process and Weekly update.
- Templates you make show next to the built-in ones, for everyone in the workspace.
- Making a doc a template shares it with the whole workspace.
- Only a whole doc can be a template, not a page inside one.
Start a doc from a template
- Go to Docs.
- Click one of the template cards at the top of the page. Or click Templates and pick one under New doc from a template.
Add a template to a page you're writing
- Open the page and click Page options (the ⋯ at the top right).
- Under Apply a template, pick a template.
On an empty page, the template fills the page. On a page that has text, it's added at the end. Nothing you wrote is replaced. On an empty page you can also click Use a template.
Make your own template
- Open the doc you want to reuse.
- Click Page options, then Use as template.
A new doc made from it gets a copy of its content. To stop offering it, click Page options, then Stop using as template.
Export a page
- Open the page.
- Click Page options.
- Under Export, pick:
- Markdown file to download the page as a
