Filter, sort and group
Filter any list by field, sort it by one or more fields, and group it under headings, so you only see the records you need right now.
Every list in Spodus, such as Contacts, Deals or Tasks, can be filtered, sorted and grouped. Use them to get from every record down to the ones you need.
Things to know
- Filters add up. A record has to match every filter to show.
- Your changes stay on the list until you clear them, but they are not saved as a view. To keep them, see Save a view.
- Created by can't be used to filter or sort.
- Only dropdown and tags fields can be used to group.
Filter a list
- Open the list, for example CRM > Companies.
- Click Filter.
- Click Add filter.
- Choose a field, then a condition, then a value. The conditions depend on the field. For example, text fields offer contains, is, is not, is empty and is not empty, and date fields offer is, is after and is before.
- Add more filters the same way.
Each filter shows as a chip above the list. Click the ✕ on a chip to remove that filter, or click Clear all in the Filter menu to remove them all.
Filter from a cell
- In the table, hover over a value, such as a company's industry.
- Click Filter by this value.
The list now shows only records with that value. This replaces any filter you already had on that field.
Filter by owner
- Click Filter.
- Under Filter by owner, pick a person, or Unassigned. Each person shows how many records they have.
Pick the same person again to remove the filter. This section shows only on lists that have an owner or assignee.
Sort a list
- Click Sort.
- Click Add sort and choose a field.
- Use the arrows to sort ascending or descending.
- To sort by a second field, click Add sort again.
Clear all removes every sort. You can also sort by one column from its header menu. See Table view.
Group a list
- Click Filter.
- Under Group by, choose a field, such as Status.
Each group gets its own heading and count. Choose None to stop grouping. You can also set Group by under Display.
Search a list
Click the search icon on the right of the toolbar and type. Press Esc to clear the search.
